Hello everyone! I wanted to introduce myself....
My Name is Paula and I am now <gulp> 52 years old. I have had my
ostomy since I was 28. I label it ostomy because it first started as
a temporary Colostomy due to Crohn's Surgery. Well, 2 years later
with the temporary Colostomy I had a choice to make, Ileostomy and
colectomy or possible death due to infection close to my spine.
Needless to say, I was tired and wanted my life back. I chose the
colectomy and ileostomy. I not only lived, but can live Life once
again!
Crohn's is a pain, literally, but with the ileostomy, it sure is
easier to manage.
I have had severe, extensive Crohn's and too many surgeries. I have
short bowel and dumping syndrome also. With less then half of my
small bowel left, all I can say is Thank God for this Ileostomy!
I just discovered this group and have been reading posts, what a
great site!
