Hi Rachel,
Congratulations on returning home. What a relief for you. I am having the same
surgery this Monday.
My doctor said I would be in the hospital 5 or 6 days if I had it done
laproscopically. May I ask why you were hospitalized for 13 days? Maybe
Australian hospitals and insurance companies don't kick you out as soon as they
do in the U.S.
Enjoy your new health.
Tim

Subject: [The Ileostomy Group] New!
Hello! My name is Rachel, I am 20 & live in Melbourne, Australia.
Fifteen days ago I had a complete colectomy and finally got rid of my
Ulcerative Colitis! HOORAY! I was allowed home from hospital two days
ago, and am now slowly recovering.
The surgery was performed lapriscopically (sp?), so once I am healed
up I shall only have four tiny scars, which is great!
Anyway, just thought I would introduce myself! :)
Blessings,
Rach
