Mine is the least active before noon, I usually don't eat a big breakfast. I
think your activity level has a lot to do with it!

Subject: [The Ileostomy Group] I'm Curious About Something
Does anyone else here notice that their ostomy is more active at certain
times of the day? I have been paying close attention to mine for the past
little while and have found that it usually runs like a tap from the time I
get up in the morning up until about noon. Then it literally stops running
in the afternoon and picks up again after supper but not as much as in the
morning. My daily output runs between 1300-1400cc and it is not unusual for
me to pass half or more of that amount in the morning. I might pass 100cc
more between noon and 5:00 and another 450-500 between then and when I go to
bed around 10. The consistency also seems to become a little thicker as the
day goes on.
The only thing that I can figure out is that in the morning I drink more and
I am also more active. That is when I do most of my housework and I'm
running up and down the stairs quite a bit. In the afternoon I have a nap
and then don't do much at night except to take my dog out for a walk.
I'm just wondering if this is a common problem or if once again I'm proving
to be totally different from other people.
