Connie - I empathize with you. I'm going on 1 year with mine & the same thing
happened to me as well.
I found relief in taking a bath & as time progressed. The itching subsided &
now it doesn't occur at all any more.
I have a feeling it's just the skin around the general area letting you know
it is not pleased. I hope this is the case & it remedies itself really soon.
Take Care & maybe trade the brillo pad for a few fingernails.
