Last Jan my GCP ordered a complete set of blood work to be done along
with a urine and stool sample. The blood work came back with everything being
fairly normal. However, the urine and stool samples showed traces of blood. He
had them redone and they came back the same but there were so many other
bacteria etc that he wasn't concerned since they only showed trace amounts of
blood.
I had to change my appliance yesterday. I used a new type of bag and decided
this morning that I didn't like it and was going to go back to my usual one.
When I put it on, I didn't get it on quite right and had to take it off to
reposition it. When I took it off, there was blood on the inside of the bag
where my stoma would touch it. I checked it a couple of hours later and wiped
off the end of my stoma. There was still a small amount of blood coming from my
stoma.
I don't know what is causing it and I don't know what to do. It's useless to
call any of my doctors. They are all off tomorrow for Good Friday and again on
Monday. I have an appointment with my GCP for Wed and one with my gastro on the
16th. I guess I am going to have to just keep an eye on it to see if it stops or
gets worse.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this and whether I should be
overly concerned or not.
Pat
