Looking for helpful tips for my father   Message List

My father had surgery June 3rd and starts chemo July 11th.
He ended up with an Ileostomy.
My question for the day is...
Does anybody have a miracle tip for the problems with the adhesive
irritating his skin to the point of bleeding?
Anything will be GREATLY appreciated.

Have you tried a barrier film? They are for people with an extreme intolerance to the adhesive. Comfeel Barrier film is one.. this is available from Coloplast....

He may be allergic. That was the case with me and my first type of bag. Barrier film is a good idea as well. -- Jamie...

is the stoma bleeding.. if it sores there is some powder you can get... does he eat alot of pickled beets.....

Wash and dry skin then dab the skin with 3M No Sting Barrier Film I highly recommend using Eakin Seals instead of paste. Ostomy supplies can be very expensive....
