>Dr. Benke:
My son is 10 years old, has MMa and is B-12 responsive. His MMA levels in
the urine range from 2,000-5,000 and in his blood 200-350. Although this
is
little info, what is the likelihood that he will need a kidney/liver
transplant and when does it usually happen agewise?
Please respond.

Lisa,
Just for your information, I also have a son with MMA who is not B-12
responsive. He is currently 16 and despite renal damage from the MMA, he
is doing fine and not in need of a transplant yet.
