Best of luck!  It is difficult to get this information.  The best source is http://www.thebirthsurvey.com/dev/Results/learn_state.htm and it's incomplete for Maryland.  If you are able to get the information, however, *please* pass it along!!!

I will be moving to the Bethesda area towards the end of the year and I would like to get information on c-section and vbac rates of local hospitals. My chapter here in CA had this info and I was wondering if is possible to get info for MD.

I would like to also know if there are VBAC bans and what hospitals have them. And, if there is not a VBAC ban, I would like to know what the hospital policy/restrictions are for a VBAC.

I am going to write a little essay on why I am going to do an HBAC next time around. I want to have all the info in place so that when I do get preggo again, I can hand this out to my family. the VBAC part will be easy, the homebirth part will be the part that will be scary for everyone.

Any recommendations for a midwife? :)

Yes, Shel is right - she's worked on trying to get the numbers. Unfortunately, getting the stats in MD, DC is challenging. VA you have the records available...
