Did you know that ICAN of Buffalo is funded soley by the donations and support of our local members - we get no funding from ICAN international or any other outside group?
Are you interested in learning more about the cesarean epidemic, or would you like to do something to support our chapter?
Each year, for Cesarean Awareness Month, ICAN reduces the rates of membership (sometimes called subscription) fees! This is a great time to support our chapter and save money doing it (OR, pay the regular amount, and ICAN of Buffalo will get to keep a bigger portion of the fees! :D)
Ordinarily, I hate asking for money, but honestly, this is such a great deal. Each member gets a subscription to our quarterly newsletter "The Clarion" as well as 10% off at the ican-online.com bookstore and conference savings. Here are the discounted membership rates:
Individual $25 Professional $50 5 year Childbearing $100 10 year Childbearing $200 Organization $75 All the money we keep goes to support women and provide educational materials. Recently, thanks to some donations we recieved, I was able to order a "After a Cesarean" brochures that explain the risks and benefits of both elective repeat cesareans and repeat VBACs. I even passed a bunch on to Dr. Kevin Fitzpatrick (the head OB at WCHOB) and other pregnant women. Getting this information into the hands of women is a crucial part of ICAN's mission, and I'm pleased that we had the resources to do it :)
