The International Childbirth Educators Assocation (ICEA) is having a conference here in Buffalo from Oct. 23-25! ICAN international has secured a booth for the event, and has requested that members of our local chapter host the booth.
The event is going to be at the Hyatt Regency, downtown.
This year ICEA is opening the exhibit hall on Friday, October 24, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, to the general public. Exhibitors should expect additional visitors, which may include expectant parents, educators, nurses, and doulas who are not registered for the convention. This is an amazing opportunity to reach people we normally wouldn't be able to reach, and help shed light on the cesarean situation in WNY, which includes women in counties north and south of Erie county who are being denied VBAC, and our cesarean rate, which is above the national average. It will also give us the opportunity to let more people know about the recovery support we offer.
I need volunteers to help me with the booth, especially because it is on a Thursday and Friday, and because we are expecting such a large amount of people. "Expertise" in cesareans, vbac and cesarean policy is not required - just a belief in what ICAN is trying to do. Below is the exhibitor's schedule:

I will be there as much as I can, which should be for most of it, but I need at least three or four more women to take small shifts, so any time you can offer will be helpful!
Please call me asap if you are able and willing to help.
Thanks!
