SP Report:

This weekend the ICAN Board met in Cincinnati, Ohio. Eleven of our Board members left their families to spend the weekend locked (literally) in a conference room.

Friday we met and got to work quickly after 'eating and greeting'.

We wrote a vision statement. ICAN has a strong mission statement, but hasn't had a vision statement.

 

ICAN's vision statement:

A healthy reduction of the cesarean rate driven by women making evidence-based, risk appropriate childbirth decisions.

 

We then revised our Statement of Beliefs. This is a longer document, so I put it in the files section of this yahoo group.

Saturday we were up early and went right to work.

Saturday night we took a break for dinner. Kathleen Skestos and Erica Christenson met us for dinner. They then came back to the conference room with us while we did a little more work.

Sunday we again met early and discussed:

    -VBAC Ban

    -Informed Consent Deception 

wrapped up all business

We had an awesome weekend. We worked together and accomplished a lot.
