AYURVEDA & ENERGY HEALING (incorporates Reiki Level 1 empowerment)

This course will provide an overview of energetic therapies including Qi
Gong, therapeutic touch, and bioenergetics with a focus on Reiki. We
will discuss the history of energy work and its application in different
cultures worldwide. We will touch upon various -scriptures relevant to
energy healing (Taittiriya Upanishad, Lalita Sahasranama), and the use
of mantras, such as Maha Mrtyunjaya to enhance the healing. We will
examine how various modalities of energy healing can help treat disease
on subtle levels, working in the chakras and bringing awareness to the
koshas. We will demonstrate how the Reiki method of natural healing
re-establishes normal energy flow, which in turn can enhance and
accelerate the body's innate healing ability. Students will learn about
the history, theory and use of Reiki and will be initiated into Reiki I
level. There will be a hands-on practice of Reiki hand positions and
Reiki awareness while giving and receiving group treatments. At the end
of the course, students will have an understanding of how to use Reiki
on themselves and on others, and how to integrate Reiki into their
Ayurvedic practice.

Course instructor Anya Golovkova is a Reiki therapist and teacher,
having attained her Master/Teacher Degree in the Usui System of Natural
Healing as administered by Eleanor Motichka. Anya uses meditation and
yoga techniques, as well as aromatherapy with therapeutic grade
essential oils to enhance her healing sessions and classes. Anya had her
first experience with yoga as a child in her native Russia during many
years of intensive ballet training, incorporating yoga asanas. Anya's
aunt was a yoga practitioner and enthusiast, and Anya has come to
appreciate the yogic wisdom of her words later, during the meditation
and yoga studies at the Himalayan Institute in New York and in
Honesdale, PA. Anya Golovkova holds an MA in Linguistics and
Intercultural Communication from Moscow State University. In 2002, Anya
left her job in corporate management to devote herself fulltime to
teaching healing and spiritual work.

NOTE: Registrants desiring practitioner program credit for this course
will be subject to a n examination. It is suggested that students
register for this program at their earliest opportunity. Please note
tuition for this course is $375.00, that a $100. deposit is required to
reserve a guaranteed seat in class.
