Well, you are somewhat accurate. L.A. will not be happening. Atlanta
will...
Canceling such an event was very difficult. I've never had to do such
a thing. My thought was that it was better to cancel than put on a
less than stellar convention. Those of you who attended in Atlanta,
know what a fantastic event we had. I had hoped L.A. would follow
suite, but the pre-registrations just weren't there, and I have an
obligation to put people in front of speakers.
My personal losses are pretty substantial. Plane tickets for half a
dozen people, hotel deposits, and credibility. It was a very tough
decision. I couldn't compound that by spending thousands more and
having a poor showing. Unlike the successful magic and Sci-Fi
conventions that I am involved in, Hypnoticon is mine alone. I'm
perusing this out of a love for the subject of hypnosis, and hope to
create avenue where hypnosis can be seriously discussed outside of
therapeutic circles.
Most of the speakers that you enjoy will be returning for Hypnoticon
in Atlanta, which will be up and running shortly. I also have a few
new speakers that deal with thought processes and creating. I hope
you'll join us.
Sincerely,
David Fontenot
