Hello Carol,

I have worked with several women who have subsequently become
pregnant. I had to ask one of them to stop telling people that she
"went to a hypnotherapist and got pregnant" :-)

On a serious note, I did much the same as you have done with your
clients but also encouraged them to practice self hypnosis and deep
relaxation, visualizing the process and and be calm and welcoming. Why
it worked I have no idea but I do believe that relaxation has a big
part in the body response.

Hypnosis for pregnancy is not something that I advertise as a service
and I should point out that the women I saw for this issue I had
previously seen for other issues (successfully) so there was an air of
positive expectancy around the treatment.

No one ever has 100 percent success with clients in any area, but a
few failures can be a blow to the confidence in something like this as
you are playing in a very emotionally charged area.

On a slightly different but related issue. My daughter "knew" she was
pregnant despite the fact that two pregnancy tests were negative and
finally on the third test it was confirmed that she was. All tests
were taken on the same day. The reason she "knew", was because she had
a very vivid dream where a "Baby Van" pulled up in front of her house
and when the back of the van was opened there were racks of babies in
swaddling and she simply chose one. This from a woman who has two law
degrees! Go figure!

At the 8 month mark of that pregnancy she fell down some stairs and
broke her arm and immediately went into labor. She was taken to
hospital where they prepared her for a premature birth. Her partner
arrived armed with relaxation CD,s that I had prepared for her and
upon hearing them her labor stopped and she was able to go full term
and have a (painless) birth at 9 months. The point here is that the
body is so responsive to suggestion, but there must be commitment. If
someone enters into this type of treatment they must have a strong
belief that it will work. If they are just "trying hypnosis to see if
it works" it is a waste of time.

As for your client in the "terrible" marriage, I would be explaining
that a baby needs a calm loving positive environment in order to
thrive and hopefully help her to see that her current situation would
not supply this. Of course you have the right to "refuse" treatment
and of course we should be able to exercise that right if you don't
feel comfortable with the situation or the client. Refer on.

Well, I think this subject is interesting. I have worked with several
women who wanted to get pregnant, and at least when I last checked,
none of them had subsequently become pregnant.
We worked on possible blocks and removed them. We did some
Imagineering on their ovaries, tubes and uterus. We healed and soothed
these areas and requested that these areas perform.
One of these women was in a terrible, in my opinion, marriage, but she
thought he would be the best sperm donor for her. She didn't like him,
he didn't like her, but she really wanted another child. She was 42
years old. I worked for her to get her wish, not thinking it would
really be good for the child, but who am I to say.
So, what do the 3000 members to this group have to say about all of
this. Would you have refused to help this woman? And, what do you do
to help people get pregnant?
Carol
