Hi-

My name is Jill, and I have Dandy Walker Syndrome Hydrocephalus.  I have had it since infancy.  Well, it was diagnosed at about six weeks.  Anyhow, I have had over a done surgeries.  Mostly revisions though.  I recently had my VP shunt replaced with a Programmable one last August.  Ever since that time I have had pain in my head.  It seems like pressure going down my face.  It sort of feels like water in a cooler when you take some out.  LOL  My ns sent me in for an MRI and I recently found out from him that my ventricles are the best he has ever seen them.  That there is no hydrocephalus present or something like that.  Meanwhile though I am still suffering with the pain.  I can't bend down to pick something up off the floor without there being intense pressure pain.  His nurse called and informed me that there didn't seem to be a problem and that he wants me to see a Pain Managemnt person.  Can someone tell me what that is?  How long does it usually take etc?  I was able to take Norco a little while back and that really helped my pain, but when I asked if I could get a perscription for that, they said no.  I am currently on Darvocet.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you-

Jill

Ps.... I am 28 yrs old.  Will be 29 in October.
