Christopher is 3 1/2 actually he turned 3 1/2 on the 19th of december.
It does my heart good everytime he stands or even when he crawls and
can hold his head up the whole time. Before the surgery he would push
his head on the floor when he crawled which made for a lot of bumps &
bruises. To see his smile as he goes along is heartwarming. Now his
favorite saying when he starts to crawl is gotta get it - meaning
whatever he has set his sights on. He is going back to school on
tuesday - would be monday but we have a dortor appointment due to the
fact that he lost 1 pound in 2 months. Most kids that wouldn't be a
big deal but he only weighs 26.6 lbs. The school feels that because he
is so active that it won't hurt him to go without eating while he is
there. I will come home tomorrow with a prescription and a letter for
the school that they have to feed him - like it or not. If I have to
volunteer just to make sure he is fed then so be it. My brother and I
were talking last night and he said that when he had his knee surgery
he was down for almost a month and all he could do is look at Chris and
shake his head. When I had Chris by vertical c-section as soon as I
was out of recovery and before I could feel my feet I was already
walking so I could go to the special needs nursery to be with him. My
doctor was not happy but got over it. He knew from then on if he
wanted to find me I would be next to his warmer holding him. At about
7 1/2 months the top of my stomach went numb so I never felt my
incision thanks to God knowing that I was all he had and I had to be
there for him.--- In hydrocephalus@yahoogroups.com, "Jennifer"
