Hi Everybody!
Hoping somebody here can help me (probably those with shunts who have
had problems with them at any time).
I've just hit the 2 month mark since I had a VP shunt placed, my 1st
at age 38! The surgery happened 4 September this year. Since Tuesday
this week I have had a humming/"whooshy" kind of noise in my left
ear.......never had this in my life before, though I have had the odd
bout of tinnitus, which hasn't been like this! I have no ear pain -
but at the other end of the "shunt worry scale", I have no
drowsiness, vomiting or temperature either (though I'm keeping my eye
on the temp!).
I've not been to see anybody yet as I don't want to end up in
hospital unnecessarily.........but at the same time I am concerned
about it. My own GP will not know what is going on, I know that,
he'll just send me the the hospital..........and I don't want to be
admitted unnecessarily. Have any of you ever had odd ear sounds that
have led to shunt troubles?
Any help would be much appreciated. UK wishes for everybody here!
Thank you!!
Chris
