Interesting. As it was with the concept of me getting my eyeglasses at age
9, I wonder what took them so long.
I'm glad that the medical "professionals" *USUALLY* are more on the ball
these days. My daughter is reasonably happy and healthy and has been
wearing glasses since she was 10 months old. So I'm glad she didn't have to
wait as long as I did. Then again even back in 2001 people used to ask "how
did you know she needed glasses?" An educated guess and lots of observation.
Some of it was from the hydrocephalus seminars they used to have in Toronto
during the 1980s, the one on eye problems was extremely helpful. While
Zophie doesn't have a shunt, fortunately, my wife and I were collectively
able to determine that Zophie probably required glasses and the doctor
obliged and set up an opthomologist appointment, and we only had to wait a
month or two.

Nice work if you can get it. As I think I said, it's hard for me to work
very quickly or memorize things, and so holding a job is very difficult.
Full time is probably out of the question. So congrats! Not all of us can
do it.

Another weakness I have, taking the wording literally and sometimes
translating the words into what was really meant. Also, being able to phrase
things properly, especially when talking in real-time (eg. face to face) is
a challenge. I have gotten into a lot of trouble simply because I used a
poor choice of words and the meaning came out wrong. At least my wife
learned early on that sometimes I need to formulate my thoughts before
speaking them, and that she must give me that time.
"Did you ever stop to think and then forget to start again?"
