Hi Tammy,
My daughter Ella is 3 months old today. She was born with Hydrocephalus. Her head grew almost 1 1/2 in 2 weeks. She had an MRI at 3 weeks and was admitted and had a VP shunt placed. Her Hydro was caused from a bleed. We do not know why. She was born full term no complications with the delivery. She will have a CT this coming Friday to see how she is doing. She sees her Neurologist monthly. Was your daughter born full term? What was the cause of her Hydrocephalus? Ella holds her head up for short periods of time. So far no delays.

I to was diagnosed at birth with hydro. I was shunted at 3 days old,
the miracle is that was 40 yrs ago today. 10/08/66. I went to
regular school graduated in 1985 and now am a front desk clerk for
the Hampton Inn. I had the VP shunt and until i was 12 i had regular
revisions. I look fairly normal i drive a car I just dont have good
balance when it comes to standing on one foot.
oh yea, let her to some degree be a kid..I mean my folks put me in
the "plastic bubble" and i had no childhood. I felt like a china
doll,i was ok to admire but you couldnt play with me for fear my
shunt would come loose.
