I can answer only in the fact that my daughter is continuously slightly dehydrated because she does not drink from normal bottles or a cup. So I would say that the answer is no.

BTW right now she is using a Haberman bottle because she cannot suck and is afraid to take fluids from a normal cup.....has anyone had this experience and could recommend something that would help us transition her to a cup? She is 3, but developmentally about 18 months.

Try using a straw, perhaps? Or maybe a so-called "sippy" cup which is closed on the top except for a small mouthpiece at one end where the child can sip from.
