Hi, I joined the group a few months ago but haven't posted before.
There are still alot of things about hydro that i don't really know. I
am 35 and have had hydro (dandy walker) since birth. I didn't know i
even had anything wrong untill i was 18 and almost died because i
basically outgrew the original shunt and it stopped working. I seem to
live a very normal life with very few problems other then headaches now
and then which makes me panic when they get more severe. My question
is does anyone know if living with hydro can affect the way you react
in certain situations, or make you more emotional and take things more
seriously then others would? Or can it cause you to mentally forget
things people tell you or somehow know you are supposed to do something
but can't remember what it is you have been told? I had a psychologist
recommend an evaluation to see if the hydro had affected my brain
activity and wondered if it would be part of the questions i am still
learning about and don't have the answers to.
Thanks, Julie
