Having my wife undergo a Hysterectomy that I felt was unessary and done months of research after the fact I now form this group to bring to light the overwhelming power and control that doctors (ob/gyn's more than others) have over our wifes. It seems that from the time when midwifes was booted out of women's lives in childbirth and replaced with Dr.s women have been feed a steady diet of half truths and partial information to have them submitt to countless medical examination, procedures, and surgerys. Many with no other reason but to create fear of cancer in our wifes, thus keeping our wifes in their control and ultimately keeping the flow of insurance dollars within their grasp.
This group is for wives as well as husbands, I ask the ladies who come here to encourage their husbands or boyfriends to join and speak up. Most men are afraid to let go of their feelings and choose to put them away in the closet because of male pride.
When you are in a marriage or LTR this is a partnership and what affect one affects the other and always affects the relationship and what it can be.
There is already a growing list of links concerning womens health and a lot of information on fibroids the number 1 cause of unnessary Hysterectomy in American women.
As a man it would be unthinkable to let go of my male reproductive organs except in a case where the outcome was sure death. Why then are women so easily convinced that giving up their uterus and or ovaries is the normal thing to do.
The day has come for women to take back the reins and put themselves in charge of the journey of healthcare, with their husbands reading the roadmap and the Dr. driving where he is told. This can only be acclomished by reading everything that you can get your hands on, talking to other ladies, seeking out a Dr. who does not want to take your uterus without at least sharing all the options with you.
