Connie,
How nice of you. I think reaching out to find her a companion is a fabulous
idea. I'm sure she's very lovely! Good luck!
I wanted to ask a question on a different subject. My Aunt is in the beginning
stages of HD and she has been experiencing in her previous home obsessions with
smelling things (gas, burning smells etc) and we HOPED when they moved into
their new home it would disappear
Well she's been there about 3 weeks and yesterday she called the apt manager to
come down because she smelled a "burning smell". She's for the most part
rational however her old home caused her massive anxiety (She thought the house
was caving in because of settlement issues, and she thought just about every
light fixture was a fire hazard??) but the house was old and I passed off the
lighting as a possabilitly and just tried to be rational about the foundation
issues. (There was nothing wrong) She said she felt the house move and the
floor bounced when she walked. (all not happening) Well the house is sold and
their in a nice apt so I've been just waiting to see if the craziness subsides.
Is this something that often happens with the brain/senses in a HD pos
person????????

Subject: [Huntingtons Disease Support Club] (unknown)
12/09/04
Hi my name is Connie, and my 21 year old Daughter has Huntingtons Disease. She
was diagonised at the age of 19, and her Father passed away in March 2003 at the
age of 43 from this sickness.
This sickness is very hard to think that anyone would have to deal with this
in life, but we know its reality. My Daughter wanted to go to College, someday
find the right person and maybe get married and have children, but her whole
life took on a change on August 9th, 2002.
I've sent and received emails from alot of you before for support and I think
you all have been wonderful, and my heart and prayers go to each of you nightly.
But, I'm looking for something else right now.
I was wondering if there is any young gentlemen about her age and dealing with
the same sickness that may want to email each other and build a friendship.
Christina has expressed to me more then once that she wishes there was someone
like her about the same age, that she could talk to, maybe go to the show with
or dinner and maybe build a relationship.
Christina may have Huntingtons and she thinks no one will ever want to be
involved in her life if they know she is sick, but if they know what kind of a
person she really is, they would be happy to know her and be a part of her life.
We live in Michigan.
Christina will be 22 in April, has Faith and goes to Church, doesn't smoke,
drink or do drugs, likes to read, loves children, playing bingo, going to the
show, shopping, puzzles and just alot of other normal things. She has a heart
full of love for people and is always thinking of people and always sees good in
everyone.
If there is anyone that would like to respond to this email, I would love to
hear from you. My Daughter doesn't know that I am doing this, I'm just trying to
help her know that she's not alone.
Thank you and GOD bless you all!
Happy Holiday!
