I have a dear friend who was diagnosed about 4 years ago with
Huntington's disease. I would love to find out as much as possible
about the general prognosis of the disease and how friends and
families can help cope with common problems that can occur.I try to
keep him as involved as possible in church avtivities. He has a
great heart and relates really well to the children in our church. He
currently goes to an HD clinic about 90 minutes away.
Besides my friend, there seem to be a growing number of families in
our church and neighborhood that are having to deal with other
serious famliy health issues. I have suggested starting an adult
daycare or at the very least a respite care ministry. I would love to
have any ideas or information related to these topics.
Ray
