Hello All!
I just joined the Yahoo Group, and I wanted to
introduce myself. My name is Shaunda Penny and I am a
nursing mother with three children as well as
co-founder of Hudson Valley Lactivism, a new
non-profit organization with a mission of
breastfeeding education and advocacy.
I recently met Melissa Creighton at the Eastern New
York La Leche League Conference in White Plains. We
discussed some of the projects that HVL is working on,
specifically we are currently creating a brochure
about nursing in public designed to help new and
expectant mothers feel comfortable nursing wherever
they are. It also will serve to educate people of the
law concerning nursing in public in New York. Melissa
thought that some of the members here might be
interested in the work we are doing.
