This sounds like a great conference too. It's at the same place Ina May was at
a couple of
months ago.
Dear Friends in Birth,
Birth Partners is thrilled to announce Sheila Kitzinger in a VERY rare U.S.
appearance! Sheila will be the guest speaker at the November 19, 2005 Body,
Birth, and Beyond seminar in Waterbury, CT. Ms. Kitzinger will be presenting
three workshops, geared toward doulas and midwives:
Language, Birth Plans and Manipulation: What do words like "trust" and "choice"
really mean? A critique of birth plan research.
Birth, Spirit and Values: Exploring cultural values in childbirth.
Flashbacks, Nightmares and Panic Attacks: Post-traumatic stress after birth.
What causes it? How can we help women who are distressed?
In addition, the day will wrap with a tea party with Sheila!
The date, again, is Saturday November 19, at the Courtyard by Marriott in
Waterbury, CT. Registration materials will be mailed by August 1 to give people
enough time for an early discount. To receive a registration brochure, please
email bplhanna@... or call Leslie at 203-426-8784.
See you in November!
Warmly,
Lynn Gillis
