Hi Janet,
I am working with a brand-new organization called BEBO - Birth Education Beyond the Ordinary, which offers independent birth education to women of all income levels, in Spanish and in English. The first seminar is in Spanish on Dec 8th! This organization was created and is headed by Erica Charpentier, whom I am copying on this e-mail. She has flyers and registration forms in Spanish, which I am sure she would be happy for you to hand out. You can contact her at erica @beboinc.org.
Right now I am working to translate the website into Spanish, but you can check out the English version at www.beboinc.org.
All fees are on a sliding scale, so as to reach the population that needs it the most.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Maria

Hi Everyone,
I miss all of you and look forward to reconnecting in 2008.
I no longer work in the field of birth, but am occasionally asked to work with the pregnant women whose children are enrolled in the Head Start program where I work as staff development specialist. I am conducting an abrievated "series" of classes in December and was wondering if anyone had any handouts/materials in Spanish. Also, if anyone has any extra "give aways" this is a VERY needy population living well below national poverty guidelines in the Portchester community. I know that anything would be GREATLY appreciated.
I would be more than happy to arrange to pick up any materials that you may have...just let me know.
Thanks, and Happy Thanksgiving!
Janet Donat

Unfortunately, it is against the standard of care in our area to do a
planned vaginal breech birth (except for the second twin.) ACOG has
specifically advised against it. So that means that even good doctors,
who are very experienced with vaginal breeches, have stopped doing
them because they have absolutely no defense in court if they go
against published guidelines from their own profession.
The medical profession and patients are being held hostage by our
legal system, and women have lost their right to make their own
choices and assume their own risks. Vote carefully next year.
