Are You a Good Father?
(as good as you want to be?)
Conscious Fatherhood: A Workshop for Men
In our world, being the father we want to be is an extraordinary challenge. Supporting our family, building a college fund, changing diapers, and disciplining our children often take precedence over our basic need to connect with our children as human beings. The responsibilities of fatherhood go from joy to burden.
How can we make fatherhood joyful again? What does joy have to do with being a good father? A clue can be found by doing a simple compare and contrast: picture writing a mortgage check as a chore versus writing a check as a means to shelter your children. Can you feel the difference?
The purpose of this workshop is to help men be conscious fathers. While no one has the answers to all of life's problems, we would like to offer you a means to make life less stressful and more enjoyable. How? Make connecting with your child your first priority, regardless of the time or the task. By doing so, you can eliminate much of the stress of both parenthood and childhood.
We work from the perspective that it's the quality of the connection between two people that defines the quality of the relationship - especially with children. It is our experience that when we make connecting with our children the first priority, we become the fathers we hope to be.
Please join us as we re-define fatherhood.

What the Facilitators Have to Say
Edmund D'Urso: The inspiration for this workshop comes from my love for my son and wife; as well as the need to see a world wherein fathers take a more conscious role in raising our children. I currently practice Emergence as a therapy and teach people to consciously fight in Nyack. I have been an Emergence Practitioner and counselor for over 10 years.
Gary Solomon: I co-created this workshop as a natural extension of the many men's programs I've been a part of, both as co-facilitator and participant, for more than 10 years. Conscious fathering is grounded in a strong sense of the sacred masculine energy within each of us, tapping the deep well of our spiritual and emotional life.
