I agree that there is a dire need for a place for mothers to gather and connect with each other.  This has been my dream for the last 15 years...unfortunately the price of real estate in Westchester has made this dream unrealistic for those of us who have been trying to make it happen.  I have decided to join forces with existing programs in our area. 

 

Have you heard of Parent's Place in White Plains?  It offers very affordable drop in groups for mothers and infants as well as toddlers and preschool children.  Care takers and fathers are welcome in groups other than the infant group.  Parents Place is staffed by MSW's and early childhood specialists and is funded by several grants. Although this program differs somewhat from my original dream (it doesn't deal with the pre-natal needs at all) it is still a wonderful (and under utilized) resource for women and children in central westchester.  They are currently working on a web site...you may be able to find them at www.parentsplace.org

 

Keep me posted on your dream.  I would love to see something like this available AND AFFORDABLE for all women in westchester!
