I have a friend who emailed me this question, and I'd love to know if any of you have ever heard about bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.  The following is her email to me.  Her daughter is 11 years old, is bi-polar and on a few different meds for that.  She started having her periods about a year ago and has seen a pediatric endocrinologist.  
Her email:
Do you know anything about BHRT? (bioidentical hormone replacement therapy) Its hormones derived from soybeans and yams...I know it sounds crazy but I am reading good things about it.

 

(Child's) periods are so heavy she is anemic- even with vitamins and veggies! I'm looking into a natural way to regulate her bleeding and moods...I didn't know if you had heard of it.
