Re: [hudvalleybirthnetwork] OB's

At Northern westchester, I'd second Dr. McGroary.  I had the most amazing birth I've ever been at with a client who was using him.  He was so hand's off - it's a birth I'll never forget.  Now the nurse we had... well, that was another story.  She was very UNsupportive of natural birth.  But the other nurses I've worked with there have all been fine.

Did you mean she lived in Northern Westchester and was looking for an OB at any hospital in the Northern Westchester area, or did you mean she was looking for an OB at Northern Westchester Hospital?  I think as far as hospitals go, Hudson Valley is the most supportive of natural childbirth - from the hospital itself (tubs in every birthing room), to the nurses to the OB's and midwives. Maybe she should go on hospital tours and see which one she feels more comfortable at?  I think Northern Westchester still has a "medical" feeling when you walk in, where as Hudson Valley is more like a birthing center feeling.

Dr. McGroary.  I like Mindy's suggestion, but the chances of her having that OB are slim to none in a practice that big!!
