White Plains Hospital is not very “natural childbirth friendly”. There is one midwife there, but she isn’t always on call for her patients. The atmosphere there is more conservative/traditional/high-risk.
There are only 2 “natural childbirth friendly” hospitals in Westchester: Phelps Memorial in Sleepy Hollow and Hudson Valley in Peekskill. Both have midwives in both clinic and private practices, birthing tubs, and liberal policies.
I am one of the midwives at Phelps, and I have a private practice with an office in White Plains. You can contact either me or the hospitals to get info on all of the midwives at both places.
