Hello Pix- Thank you for writing back! I heard from John Talbird who said that
inpatient care is on hold until the hospital reopens. I started a discussion
here on the PCUSA Haiti site:
http://pcusahaitinetwork.ning.com/forum/categories/mission-trips/listForCategory
Thanks for your help!
Sincerely,
Lyle

Lyle,
As you may or may not realize at this point, working with folks who
have a heart for Haiti is like trying to herd cats in a room full of
rocking chairs with a dog on the loose. (BIG DOG!)
I will be able to keep folks aware and connected (as they may choose
to be on their own) but I am not always privy to who/when were and
for that matter even WHY folks are going.
Believe me, I do understand the frustrations you have when people
reply the way I am doing.
May I suggest that you send or begin a discussion group on the
network site.
The HSC connections will be thorough the Guest House Manager e-mail
address. I HOPE I have forwarded to you as well.
If my old brain was not in gear, here it is again:

Hi Pix,
Thank you so much for your response, and for the invitation to the PCUSA
Haiti Mission Network. That is going to be a great resource. I was
asking about surgical teams because I would like to update the Medical
Mission Exchange (www.mmex.org) site. In order to add the trips listed
on the Google calendar I just need to know what kinds of doctors will be
on each team.
Could the teams scheduled to go to HSC contact me with this
information? Or, they can go to www.mmex.org and enter the trip
information. It is quick, and could help other medical mission
organizations connect patients with providers.
The MMEX database is useful because it lists medical mission trips far
ahead of their scheduled dates. This makes it possible for providers to
connect with one another to arrange the most appropriate care for their
patients. The ultimate beneficiaries of the information accessed and
shared at Medical Mission Exchange are the patients themselves.
Sincerely,
Lyle

While driving home tonight, I tuned in to NPR and there was (Dr.s) David Walmer and Delsin Maricia doing an interview (sounded like recently in N. Carolina). Lot's about Leogane and Family Health Ministries.........You might be able to hear it by going to the NPR website.........Was in Leogane week before last doing well repairs with Albert. We (CNP/LWI) are closing in on our 100th water well rehabilitation (first well repaired in Fall '03) which should take place this week. And while we were at it, we bought a truck - a "Haitian tale" unto itself!
I pray this effort has been God's - and that it is helping the Leoganese become healthier.....
