I have just talked with Kathryn Bolles who has talked with Cathy
Speraw. They have discovered that the two previously unidentified
white people in the car with Joseph were in fact, Americans. The
woman were in Haiti representing the HEALING HANDS FOR HAITI
organization which is Mormon, and based in Utah. They had met
Joseph in Port-au-Prince and told him they hoped to see the beach
before they left Haiti. As Joseph had decided to go to see his
sister ( who lives on the way to the beach) he called their
organization and offered to give them a ride. When the gang
stopped the car, the women witnessed the killing of Joseph, were
robbed, and let go. They wandered the streets until they found
someone who helped them contact their organization. They were
rescued and promptly evacuated to the United States. One woman is
hospitalized with psychological trauma, and is unable to speak. The
other woman was able to speak to Cathy, and to give her this
confirmation of events.

Kathryn and others are working to find help for Cathy and her family
in recovery of the vehicle, and Joseph's body which she suspects may
still be in the vehicle in spite of earlier reports that the vehicle
was empty.

The mystery is solved, but Cathy and Joseph's family still do not
have his body.
