With sadness, I offer the following for clarification.
Apparently, there were no University of Notre Dame students with Joseph. There are long term volunteers who graduated from Notre Dame working in Haiti, but they were not in the car, and are headed back to the US ASAP, possibly today.
Joseph was working on his master's degree from Notre Dame, and his studies were related to Filariasis.
As has been previously mentioned, Cathy's parents have traveled to be with her in Haiti, and other close friends are making arrangements to go there. Katie Griggs is trying to return, possibly tomorrow.
