Re: [hscenews] New Overture from NYC on Haiti

Pix,

I am glad to see someone trying to do something for Haiti.  I have read the Overture and one section concerns me.  There is item 3 that begins "warn against".  I have a problem with the PCUSA warning anyone.  What would we do if they don't heed the warning?  Is the PCUSA going to invade Haiti if they don't comply?  I would rather see something like "request the US government, or some other entity, to warn against something and to take appropriate action if that warning is not heeded.  Just a thought.  Their motives are good and I approve but, in my opinion, their language is a bit flawed.
