As you may have gathered the Good Shepherd team is still here in
Leogane due to flight cancelations. This gave us the opportunity to
spend sometime with the team that came in from Winston-Salem. We
joined with them on a mobile clinic on Monday the 27th.
Working together we were able to see 197 patients at a clinic not far
from the hospital. It was hot and very humid but spirits were good
from a successful days work.
On Tuesday morning the Winston-Salem group headed out on an overnight
moble clinic. They left at about 7 am. After a drive they had a 4
hour hike into the mountains. I beleive they were supposed to arrive
some time around lunch and do a half day clinic. Local families will
provide dinner, lodging and breakfast in the morning. Then they will
have a morning clinic and return on Wednesday evening.
While it would have been interesting to join them we decided it would
be wiser to return home when travel is available. Despite the delays
in travel we are all in good spirits and already looking ahead to our
return visit to Haiti and the Hopital Sainte Croix.
