The Faculté des Sciences Infirmières de l'Université Episcopale d'Haïti (FSIL) is the first baccalaureate nursing program in Haiti.  It started on January 10, 2005, under Doyenne (Dean) Hilda Alcindor with a Governing Board, made up of Haitian and American members and chaired by Dr. Donna Martsolf who is a Professor of Nursing at Kent State University and Vice-Chair Dr. Jessie Colin who is a Professor of Nursing at Barry University.  FSIL was built with grant funding from USAID/ASHA through the Medical Benevolence Foundation (MBF) and major continuing funding from MBF and the Haiti Nursing Foundation.
