Hello again,
Hi Tom , Hi Hannah,
Yeah it's certainly a tough situation when it's your turn isn't it?
I agree with you though about telling prospective long -term partners
about the condition, even if only out of respect them. With ex-
partners, I suppose you've just got to weigh things up and judge
whether it wise to do so or if they've even got it (HPV) because
they'd probably know by now. I wasn't 100% certain of who passed it
to me, so I didn't start accusing anyone and just waited for the flak
to come a few months later - but it never did so i just let it go and
made sure i was careful ever since.
When I first found out I had HPV, I'd only just started in a
relationship, and luckily hadn't gotten intimate with her. It got to
be a few weeks and it was playing on my mind every minute of the
day,so I finally told her (when drunk, unfortunately) and she was
really calm and cool about it, which threw me a bit. Unfortunately, i
broke it off a few days later anyway because things weren't going too
great between us (she must've thought i was a right cheeky sod!!),
but i've seen her around the town a few times since, and thankfully ,
she's been great about it.
Like you, i'm dreading the point where I meet someone I really
like and am going to have to tell them. But , if you really like them
then you've got to tell them (to save all the crap that'll come later)
I suppose it's what makes us human beings?!?!? But it's definitely
holding me back, consciously and unconsciously.... (though i'm sure
it'll all work out fine one day!)

Good luck to you all, and take care.
James.
