just to let you know guys, I'm a previous member ,and just wanted to
let you know that I've been checking privacy levels on another
group,and if you run your id through an internet search, some
messages that you have posted on this group will show up.Luckily my
previous id on here was also anonymous, but for those of you that
have given personal names or info out on here, please do take care,
or delete the posts that you do not wish anyone outside this group
that knows your id to see - if they decide to be nosy and run a
search on your id.,the search will bring them to your messages page
which is viewable to the public, and they can then see any personal
info on your profile simply by signing into yahoo themselves.I
thought that as I had to join the group to post, that posts were
restricted viewing with access only to people searching for groups
through the group page on yahoo, but afraid not :-(

you can check out the privacy level of any group that you are on, by
simply putting, for example, the front part of your yahoo address or
whatever id/email addy you use on your groups into the yahoo search
engine. If the particular id/email addy that you have entered gives
no results, then whatever groups you use that on have a message
folder that is restricted from the public.unless they join of course
lol.
Apologies for this lengthy diatribe, but I take privacy very
personally, esp re the sensitive topics discussed on some groups,
and would hate for any of your privacy to be compromised.
