Ello!
Sory to hear you GP thinks you have Genital warts. So has he/she
refered you to the local GUM clinic? I hope that all goes well.
Well, some good news anyway, the type of warts that cause visible
bumps, or 'lesions' as the doctors call them aren't realy ascociated
with cervical cancer. Thankfully Cancer of the penis is very, very
rare, anyway.
I guess if you do choose to inform your future partners, it would be
best after you have got rid of the visible symptoms. At least then
you can say you have had HPV, and may still be able to transmit the
virus. I think saying you 'had' rather than 'have' warts is your
best bet!
No need to apologise, I think that we all feel disgsted and dirty
when we find out about this, it can be real nightmare. The
statistics are that about 75% - 80% of the Human population Is
exposed to HPV at some point in there lives, but only a few of us
have visible symptoms, its just bad luck thats all.
All I can say is, if you ever need a chat, feel free to email me
anytime. :o)
