I've read a couple of the posts and decided to join. I can't tell
you how having HPV has caused me to worry about trying to find a
relationship. I am scared on two fronts; scared that I might infect
someone, and secondly scared because I got this from someone, what
else could I get?

While my friend (who I have been intimate with) says I shouldn't
worry about it. It causes me lots of grief. Prior to having this (I
developed symptoms about 9 months ago,) I would have politly excused
myself from any close relationship with someone.

I've read many articles some just plan junk and others very
informative. Some articles saying that 50% of people who have
premariatal sex carry the virus, one article even said that 80%.
While this makes me feel that I'm not alone, I wonder how many of
that 50, 80 or whatever know they have it or show symptoms. Perhaps
ignorance is bliss (my friend doesn't show signs but either they
gave it to me or I infected them).

Since it's hard to know when a person gets the virus, I'm not sure
when I contracted it, I'm not promiscious but I have had a couple of
sexual relationships. I can almost bet that my partner didn't know
they had anything (or they kept quiet).

When my symptoms occured I had them treated about a week after and
havn't shown any sign in about 8 months. However the mental scars
are still there.

I think my main problem is that I am still having problems trying to
date. I still keep my personal standards, but if truth be told, I
wouldn't even fit those.
