Dear Friend - and I mean every word of it! My statement was not
meant to be offensive in any way...I simply have a view of you that
does not convey any idea of "disillusionment...." You weren't
disillusioned with me...and that speaks volumes! I am certainly not
disillusioned with you .... you bring to me, personally, great hope
that a good and noble and worthwhile objective can be achieved ....
millions of Americans who do know have turned their backs on a man
to whom they owe very much indeed .... but YOU - AND I ADMIRE YOU FOR
IT MORE THAN I CAN SAY - have stood up to be counted. I have been a
soldier, and there is nothing that I admire in a man more than that
kind of character. Please understand the sincerity of this
expression. I am van. May I know you by a personal friend's name?
