I'll be setting up for the Discovery Channel program to
elect the greatest American during this first week of june 1905.
I've decided to vote for Howard Robard Hughes Jr. baserd on the
contributions that he made to make life better for all of us during
this hi-tech age of development.
Recall: We complain here in America when we have to pay over $2.00
per gallon for gasoline fuel. Howard Hughes' developments in making
it
possible for us to have transportation and other fuel, when given
recognition, clearly show that We americans and people all over the
whole world owe Howard Hughes more for making possible large
quantities of fuel, at affordable cost,than any other person or group
in the world. We for whom private automobiles have become a normal
thing in the course of our lives everyday, owe this great blessing to
Howard Hughes, not only for fuel to power our automobiles, but for
devises designed to make it easy for automobile operators to operate
and safely control these multi-hundred horsepower machines equipped
with power assist devices,(with fingertip control) power brakes,
steering. automatic gears. Metallurgy, essential to construction of
everything requiring metal, from nails to cannon barrels for military
weapons-is a revolutionary Hughes Tool Company development that has
enriched our lives and our nation. In every area of human
achievement, in the air, on land and sea, in outer space,Howard Hughes
has left his country and his people-and people everywhere, a very
important legacy for the berrer living styles thast we have come to
enjoy (or, sadly in many cases, take for granted).
