Just received, reviewes above documentary DVD> I find
it follows the usual brainwqash trend of "What a great guy...BUT...
and then goes on to undermine everything greatvabout him. The over 4
hour 'documentary' has some great footage on the 1938 Round the World
Flight, the movie filming sequences; but it falls far short of
depicting the Aviation Accomplishments with any enthusiasm; the
"spruce goose" mentions were of the usual put down type as were
mentions of other aircraft development work. The narrator,Raymond
Fowler, was doggedly fixed on making the usual indecency hardly
veiled suggestions concerning Howard's relationships with the many
movie starlets that he was associated with-from jean harlow on.
Fowler, it needs to be borne in mind, was the psychologist who
performed the 'psychological autopsy for the Hughes Estate litigation
in 1986. Imagine that, a psychological profile on a man he'd never
met met-ten years after his death. But that is the usual story
on "Hughes
Experts" that is always found by those who look into the matter.
Discredited as all those "trial procedures" proved to be, they and their
their primary participants have held the limelight positions in
all information media presentations ever since Howard's murder.
Worth seeing if only to note all the omissions and draw the logical
conclusions for ones self.
Good Hunting, All! Van
