I just bought a copy of the recently re-issued, unfortunately titled,
DVD 'Howard Hughes: The Man & The Madness'. It contains some excellent
quality but all too brief archive newsreel footage from the thirties
and forties as well as film of the Hercules being moved to Long Beach
and the XH-17 giant helicopter. The duration of the DVD is 98 minutes
however the majority of this time is taken up with interviews with
Robert Maheu, James Bacon, various authors and personal aides and
concentrates more on the latter years of Howard Hughes' life.
It is a useful addition to the library of Howard Hughes' DVDs, if only
for the archive newsreels.
