Dear John,
Thank you for your humourous reply!
A few more ideas to not just focus on 'brain fog' aspect.
If you get a chance, watch a PBS show called "The Elegant Universe".
It explains Newton's gravity theory, Einstein's relativity theory,
how Einstein tried to reconcile his theory with Newton's into
a 'unified theory'. Anyway, there is a segment in there
explaining 'quantum mechanics' and later 'string theory'. Somehow, I
relate "time" to Howard Hughes. He supposedly could go for days
working creatively/scientifically on projects and then sleep for 24
hours. It seems like he lived in a special realm of existential
creative randomness and after listening to how this show
explained 'quantum mechanics', I thought to myself, maybe HRH lived
in that realm. Hard as heck for him possibly to reconcile with the
mundane existence of conventional society.
Also, think he was an artist in his own way, in re: to design of
airplanes. A Renaissance man like daVinci.
I also think 'poor Howard' and that he was a hoot! Meaning 'hoot' as
special and unusual charm/humour about him.
You are right about writing. I wrote one 2 1/2 page passage for an
educational company and it was very difficult to give them what they
wanted.
I tend to quirky, poetic musings and can paint little vignettes, but
to do the whole schmeer---characters, plot, dialogue, setting, mood,
and make complexity of 'anything' come alive is a very hard task. One
has to either be extraordinarily gifted or work hard at it by
reading, reading, reading your genre and knowing your grammar, etc.
Thanks!
Elaine
