Hi Van,
See others gave you good leads re: Juan Trippe.
My research librarian friend brought me xerox copies of citations on
articles re: Howard Hughes that go back to the 1930s up to 1960, plus
copies of various articles. About 2 to 2 1/2 inches thick of
materials.
I just went through looking for mention of Juan Trippe, but nothing
in fast run-through.
Here is one citation to give example of sources friend gave me:
Title: CAB starts another investigation of Hughes' airline operations
Journal Source: Business Week
Source: Business Week (October 6 1956) p. 78
Publication Year: 1956
ISSN: 0007-7135
Subject(s): Hughes, Howard, 1905-1976
Document Type: Feature
Update Code: 20020824
Database: Readers' Guide Retrospective
Accession Number: 195628004065021
After I go through everything, would you want me to send what I have
to your address in Temple? Think you have your address on Boomersint.
I may ask friend if okay for it to be sent just to make sure (she is
big into conspiracy theories and may think she would get in
trouble)...or I may not mention as very unlikely she would
be 'tracked down'.
Much of it may be articles, books, etc. you have already come across
in the research you did for your book, but there possibly could be
other leads.
Appreciated your earlier e-mail showing concern about my leaving
group for awhile. Mainly, at this point, I am far behind in
understanding a lot of the characters involved, but getting some of
the picture.
But, always glad to pass along something in hopes that it is new clue.
Do know of an Aviation Museum in Lakeland, Florida that has HRH's
memorabilia, but will mention in another e-mail.
Best regards,
Elaine
