Members, past year has been uneventful. Reminder: We have set up
this club to promote establishment of a memorial to Howard Hughes.
Nothing of substance has occurred in support of this our reason for
being in this association. Some of you have received a complimentary
copy of the book Analytical American History of the Life and Times
of Howard Robard Hughes.. a major and unique study of more than 6
years of research. Expenses prevent that this massive volume work be
sent to people who only let it collect dust on the shelf. Others of
you who'd like a chance to peruse this work may obtain opportunity to
read it by having your local librarian request a loanout copy from
(1) Houston Texas Public Library (2) Temple Texas Public Library
(3) Texas State Historical Research Association, Library of Mary
Hardin Baylor University, Belton. Texas. The author (van) will
assist you in any way possible to obtain a copy of the book. It is
not for sale from any source, nor a "whim" item for anyone lazily
(curiously) interested. Much has happened over the past year that
should, rightly, have aroused a healthy interest in affairs
concerning Howard; movie in the making, reconstruction of HR-l
followed by crash and destruction of this history-making aviation
development going back to pre-world war II times. The long absent
from knowledge Jean Peters reported dead of cancer in California;
Nadine Henley's appearance at Hughes Air West memorial event recently
where she was actually photographed together with others of her
colleagues.
Toodle OO, All! Let's do somethin' or get off'n the pot!
Sincerely Van
