Friends, this is a small group, and there has been little said and
done to promote its purpose. But here is the grand exception! I am
forever grasteful and indebted to the author of this "Ode to Howard
Hyghes." My intention is to have this set to music, with all credit
to our Dear Friend Frasnk. Someday a great movie shall be made and
I am hoping that the members of this group will join wholeheartedly
in this venture. Isn't it something to consider, here we have a
Great American, who has been recognized all over the world - not as
a widely touted "mad recluse" as mrdia and literature up to now have
portrayed him, but as a contributor to a better life for all of us
in many, many ways. I have visited his grave in Houston (had to have
attendants help me to find it!) This, the holder of Congressional
Gold Medal, Harmon and Collier and Octave Chanute Aviation
Achievemenr awards while in his early thirties, unique pioneer and
developer of aircraft during the 20th century when Aviation had its
start and major developments! and so many other things, many of
which have gone unrecognized..and which remain for us to historicize!
I count on your active help in making this group successful in
carrying out its noble purposes! Sincerely van
